We have a fun project going on for a residence outside of Grass Valley. Ultimately they will have newly landscaped backyard. However, for some instant gratification, the client requested an updated look for the front of the home. Today, we set out the plants to be planted, or "spotted" plants. The plantings are a mixture of small shrubs and perennials such as Azaleas, 'Plum Pudding' coral bells, sweet woodruff and Japanese forest grass. Center stage in the planting bed is a beautiful Seiryu Japanese maple. A climbing star jasmine will also lend a spectacular fragrance come early summer next year.
