Design Process

1. Discovery & Analysis

Discuss clients goals, special requirements, project budget, and design aesthetics to determine the scope of work and understand the client's vision. Onsite inspection is scheduled with clients. During the inspection we will analyze the site, and then discuss potential areas of improvement with the client’s preferences in mind.

2. Concept Design

Create concept diagrams illustrating general locations and relationships between all existing and proposed landscape elements. These studies examine how the spaces relate to each other and to the site. Review all codes, current entitlements, and conditions of approval that pertain to the development of the site. Identify preferred concepts.

3. Schematic Design

5. Project Management
& Installation

Provide project management services to facilitate construction, respond to requests for clarification, address unforeseen design issues, review and approve hardscape and planting layout, and observe the quality of workmanship and materials. Working closely with contractors, coordinating construction processes, and ensuring compliance with design intent.

6. Maintenance
& Observation

Prepare a Landscape Maintenance Manual indicating recommended ongoing and recurring tasks. Ensure long-term success by periodically visiting the project after construction to make sure all systems are working well and plants are thriving; make recommendations as needed. Now it's time for Champagne! Sit back and enjoy your beautiful new space.

What Our Clients Are Saying:

“We are delighted to have completed several projects with Karin Kaufman as our landscape architect. She is knowledgeable, dependable, and fun to work with.”

★★★★★

“Siteline Architecture has worked with Karin on a number of projects over the years, most recently a deck, patio and pool project. Karin worked within a very tight area of the site that was encumbered by a number of issues not least of which was an existing septic system. The design was extremely successful and has allowed our client to enjoy both the look and the function of their new amenities as well as allowing them to access an area of their landscape that was previously not utilized.”

★★★★★

“We hired Karin because of her reputation for beautiful, drought-tolerant landscape designs. Our front yard had a sloping lawn that nobody ever used and a steep walkway that was not very inviting. Karin developed a plan for a new, more level entryway surrounded by a variety of ground covers and flowering plants. We no longer have to water our yard every other day, and we increased the curb appeal of our house greatly.”
