With a grant funded by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and administered by the Sierra Nevada Alliance, KKLA provided free landscape consultations for fifty private residences. These consultations specifically addressed water (conservation and stormwater management), vegetation (eradicating invasives, planting natives, and reducing high-water plantings such as lawn), and attracting native wildlife. Conceptual plans specific to each site were given to the participants, along with construction details of drainage and erosion-control elements and planting vignettes.
